The new SPA at the 5-star Hotel Chalet Al Foss Alp Resort, an icon of mountain hospitality and internationally renowned for its exclusive couples-focused concept, represents a project that redefines the notion of immersive wellness.
The resort’s comprehensive renovation stems from a carefully crafted concept by the owners and developed by architect Alessandro Cestele of Studio D4L, aiming to transform the stay into a complete sensory experience that delights and surprises.
Natural elements as inspiration
The project draws inspiration from the four natural elements, which become a unifying thread throughout the resort’s spaces.
The entrance, with its suspended, transparent pool, evokes water; the lobby, with its large counter, represents fire; the main restaurant hall embodies air.
The new SPA, on the other hand, is dedicated to water and earth, reinterpreted in a contemporary key to offer an experiential journey where nature takes center stage.
Wellness is placed at the heart of the project: not just relaxation, but a total immersion that engages sight, sound, touch, and even the perception of time.
The Water Curtain: innovation and spectacle
A standout feature of the resort is the renovated central pool, reimagined as a natural gorge that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
At its heart is the Water Curtain, a striking combination of design and technology that defines the space’s identity.
Developed in collaboration with Aquaform, a company specializing in water solutions for the wellness sector, the Water Curtain is discreetly integrated into the ceiling, surrounding a luminous canopy that casts a soft, immersive glow.
The vertical interplay between the mirror-like pool and cascading water creates a mesmerizing contrast of light and shadow, seamlessly connecting interior and exterior while transporting guests into a suspended, almost magical dimension.
Architecture and technology in synergy
The final effect, as shown in the renderings and now perceivable in reality, is that of a space where architecture, design and technology merge seamlessly to create a continuous experience.
Every detail has been designed to stimulate the senses, from the natural light filtering through the Water Curtain’s velarium, to the carefully selected materials and textures, up to the sounds and scenographic elements that accompany guests along the way.
The synergy between the vision of Studio D4L and the technical expertise of specialized partners such as Aquaform has made it possible to create a SPA that is not just a place of well-being, but a complete multisensory experience, capable of surprising, moving and leaving a lasting impression.
Every corner invites relaxation and regeneration, turning the stay into a journey of pure pleasure and harmony.
